Appthetic, a prominent cider and beverage imaging brand, is the focus of this project. It involves designing the brand's style, logo, 3D products, posters, and utilizing AR through Aero for product promotion. The goal is to create a cohesive and visually engaging brand experience across various elements.
For this assignment, I was responsible for crafting a logo for a fictional company and seamlessly blending it into advertisements for an imaginary product campaign.I devised a brand named Appthetic, centered around beverage offerings like apple cider and other drinks, incorporating a blend of elegant and retro-pop aesthetics.
I began by sketching out logo concepts on paper. From these, I selected the top 5 designs to refine further using Adobe Illustrator, resulting in 5 distinct logo icons. Then I provided three bullet points elucidating the underlying elements and the symbolism represented by the design.
In the initial phase of the design process for Appthetic, the focus is on crafting a distinctive visual identity through the creation of a style guide. This involves meticulous selection of fonts and colors that evoke a sense of luxury and ensure the brand stands out in the competitive beverage market. The objective is to establish guidelines for a cohesive brand representation across various media platforms.
Following the style guide, I proceed to develop color wordmarks for the three most promising logos. Each logo is meticulously crafted in two variations: a straightforward version utilizing Pantone colors for simplicity, and a more intricate rendition for added depth and detail.
The design process moves on to the creation of a logo for Appthetic. The central theme revolves around portraying the apple as the center of the universe, with a concerted effort to infuse a luxurious aesthetic.
I incorporate the logo design onto various mockups to visualize how it will appear on different merchandise items, allowing me to explore and assess potential product offerings.
To bolster promotional endeavors and align with the pop art concept, I transform one of the logos into a distinctive mascot for Appthetic. The goal is to create a character imbued with unique personality traits that can be strategically utilized across diverse marketing channels.
I begin creating the product. I start by designing a banner featuring the cider bottle using Photoshop. Next, I use Dimension to model the cider bottle and then merge the elements together.
Moving forward, the design process extends to crafting visually appealing posters that align with the brand's overarching theme. This involves utilizing 3D product exports from Dimension and creating the posters in Illustrator. Following this, I produce various sizes of posters tailored to match each specific usage.
By leveraging cutting-edge technology, I expand the design process to include augmented reality (AR) experiences for product promotion, utilizing Adobe Aero. Promotional content is then developed to showcase the unique AR experience.
The Appthetic project immersed me in branding and design, aiming to create a captivating identity for a cider and beverage brand. From developing the logo and style guide to crafting 3D products and posters, and utilizing AR through Aero for promotion, the goal was a seamless brand experience. A highlight was creating Appthetic, a modern yet nostalgic brand. I learned the importance of planning, attention to detail, and adaptability. Embracing new tools like AR expanded my skills, highlighting innovation and creativity in design and branding.
